Have you ever wanted to play a music festival? Now is your chance! The Des Moines Music Coalition is accepting entries for its annual Little BIG FEST and the deadline is this Wednesday, September 30th by 5 p.m.
Little BIG Fest features music in several genres: singer/songwriter, blues, soul, jazz, roots, bluegrass, jam, and world. Established in 2006, the festival features artists from around the nation as well as local artists, who are encouraged to apply. One such spot will be determined through a community vote via the web. When considering local artists Little BIG Fest focuses on featuring artists in the community who have been exceptionally active with their music, marketing, and more in the last year. To be considered submit your entry to Ben Croghan at firstname.lastname@example.org. Song submissions must be in mp3 format and named as follows: SONGNAME_ARTISTNAME.mp3.
Shortly after the deadline eligible submissions will be posted on desmoinesmc.com and community voting will begin. The winner and the rest of the Little BIG Fest lineup will be unveiled at the Des Moines Coalition’s Music University on Saturday, October 17th. The actual festival will take place Saturday, December 5th at Wooly’s in the Historic East Village.
